Health Guarantee
I encourage you to compare this health guarantee with that of other Maine Coon breeders. This is the best health guarantee you will find online! I offer this with confidence because my Maine Coons and their parents are healthy and come from champion bloodlines. My kennel is one of the few to provide a money-back guarantee if your Maine Coon is found to be unhealthy by a veterinarian within 30 days. Additionally, I also guarantee my Maine Coons against serious congenital and genetic diseases for one (1) year!
What is the Maine Coon Health Guarantee?
First of all, the term “Guarantee” isn’t quite proper. Nobody can guarantee that any living thing won’t get sick or die. So, the right word should be “Health Warranty.” You’re investing a lot of time and money in locating and purchasing your beautiful Maine Coon kitten. You deserve a reasonable degree of protection!
The Maine Coon Health Guarantee consists of two parts:
Part 1 – Protects You from Receiving a Sick Kitten
You must have your kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours after leaving my care. If your veterinarian determines that the kitten is ill and/or unfit for sale, you should return the kitten for a full refund of the sale price or opt for a “next available” kitten of your liking.
A few important details:
- First – I require an original written statement from your veterinarian.
- Second – I will not reimburse veterinary fees.
- Third – Kitten’s shipping fees are non-refundable; however, if you paid to have your kitten shipped, I will pay to have the kitten returned. If a “next-available” kitten is to your satisfaction, I will pay for his/her shipping.
Finally, I adhere strictly to the 72-hour time limit. I understand veterinary offices are closed on weekends and holidays, but illnesses don’t respect office hours. If I extend this time limit, I may end up being responsible for a kitten’s illness he/she encountered after leaving my very own protective and cautious care.
Part 2 – Protects You Over the Long Term from Any Possible Genetic Defect or Congenital Disease
If your Maine Coon is diagnosed with a serious genetic defect or congenital disease before one year of age, I will provide you with a healthy replacement. Depending on the specific condition, I will work with you to decide how to best care for the sick kitten.
Examples of conditions that would entitle you to a healthy replacement include: life-threatening heart conditions, genetic diseases or defects, and degenerative nerve disorders. In other words, conditions that affect the longevity or quality of life of the kitten.
Examples of conditions that would not qualify for replacement are, but not limited to, innocent heart murmurs. In other words, any condition that an otherwise healthy cat can live with and still live a happy quality of life, or a condition that is treatable.
In general, I would accept a veterinarian’s opinion of what constitutes a serious defect, but may require a second opinion, which would be obtained at my expense. No refund will be issued if there is obvious neglect or violations of the Sales Agreement. If I cannot offer a healthy replacement within six months or I am no longer operating my kennel, I will refund the original purchase price of the kitten, not including delivery.
